So…I started this as a ‘normal’ blog with the intention of talking about (and, I guess, reviewing) books that I like. But it then occurred to me that that would be unbelievably boring.

One, I’m not a writer so am not particularly elloquent.

Two, I’m not intelligent enough to write something deeply profound or create some philosophical argument or come up with some unique viewpoint on a book that’s not been said before.

And three, when people read reviews of books they just want to know whether it’s worth reading.

So my aim with this is to recommend as many books as I can, with only the briefest of explanations as to why they are worth your time. And, perhaps uniquely, I try not to write anything negative. There’s enough other twats out there doing that. Ah, I hear you say…but what makes you so special that people need to pay attention to your points of view?

Nothing, nothing at all. I’m just a normal guy with literally nothing special about me other than I absolutely love reading and adore finding new novels and authors and feel impelled to pass on the recommendations.
