The Booker? Pulitzer? That one that Richard & Judy used to do? Forget them. Allow me to introduce you to The Portland Award – officially (and no need to check…I’m right on this) now the most prestigious award in the book world.

It’s unique in that it is awarded to the best book I’ve read each year, regardless of when the book was released, thus keeping things interesting for all those books that Booker and Pulitzer passed over. It is also judged right at the end of each year, so none of this mid-year, is it included, is it not included judging malarkey.
